Wacky's Deli had it's humble beginnings nearly 11 years ago as Wacky's Kantina. The bar became known for it's punk rock and alternative shows, at a time pivotal to bringing both those scenes into the mainstream culture. It hosted shows that became legendary to the San Antonio underground scene, and showcased up and coming talent from the region. It even hosted a remote for MTV, back when it actually played music.

But about in 1996 the club that helped spell the beginning for so many bands and movements came to an end, closing a chapter in San Antonio's music history. But luckily, a new chapter is being written. It has now been reopened as Wacky's Deli, and is being restored and renovated to surpass the club from whose ashes it arose. Under new owners it hopes to carry on the tradition of showcasing new talent, and bringing unforgetable, and yes, even legendary shows back to the Alamo City.
